Description

This Quick & Flavorful Steak and Broccoli Stir Fry combines tender flank steak and crisp broccoli in a savory sauce. A delicious and healthy dinner ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Flank Steak (Can be swapped for skirt steak or sirloin.)
  • 4 cups Broccoli Florets (Fresh is preferred for crunch.)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Minced.)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ginger (Grated; optional.)
  • 0.33 cup Coconut Aminos (Soy sauce alternative.)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Hot Sauce (Optional.)
  • 0.125 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 0.75 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Avocado Oil (Substitutable with grapeseed or canola.)
  • 0.33 cup Water
  • 0.5 teaspoon Sesame Seeds (Optional for garnish.)
  • 1 piece Green Onion (Chopped.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, coconut aminos, sesame oil, hot sauce, and black pepper. Split into two parts; mix cornstarch into one part for your stir fry sauce. Refrigerate both for later use.
  2. Marinate the Beef: Slice the flank steak against the grain into ¼ inch thick strips. Place in a zip-lock bag, pour marinade over, mix gently, and let marinate at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  3. Prep Broccoli: Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets. In a skillet, add water and broccoli, covering briefly to steam for approximately 3 minutes until bright green. Remove and set aside.
  4. Sear the Beef: Heat avocado oil in the same skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Remove marinated beef from the bag (discard marinade) and sear for 2 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
  5. Combine: Add steamed broccoli back into the skillet with reserved stir fry sauce. Stir-fry together for 4-5 minutes, ensuring the broccoli stays vibrant and crisp.
  6. Serve: Plate the Steak and Broccoli Stir Fry and garnish with optional sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
