Description

These Spinach Garlic Meatballs are a delightful twist on a classic dish that brings comfort and joy to your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey (Use turkey for a lighter choice.)
  • 2 cups Fresh Spinach (Sauté to reduce moisture.)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (Minced.)
  • 1 Onion (optional) (Finely chopped.)
  • 1 large Egg (Essential for binding.)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Substitutable for gluten-free options.)
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated is ideal.)
  • 4 oz Low-Moisture Mozzarella Cubes (Chilled to prevent melting.)
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Salt (Adjust to taste.)
  • 1 tsp Pepper (Adjust to taste.)
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional) (For added heat.)
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Parsley (optional) (For garnishing.)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the fresh spinach and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes until the spinach is wilted and vibrant green. Allow it to cool slightly before chopping finely.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat of your choice, the egg, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and the chopped spinach. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.
  3. Take a scoop of the meat mixture and encase a chilled mozzarella cube inside, ensuring the cheese is fully covered and sealed.
  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the meatballs on a baking sheet and cook for 20-25 minutes, or pan-sear in olive oil for 6-8 minutes per side.
  5. For extra flavor, simmer the cooked meatballs in warm marinara sauce for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  6. Allow the meatballs to rest for about 5 minutes after cooking to lock in the juices.
