- 12 dumplings (pork, chicken, veggie, or shrimp)
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons grated ginger
- 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons chopped scallions
- Extra chili crisp or chili oil (optional)
Instructions
- In a deep saucepan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
- Pour in broth, soy sauces, vinegar, chili oil, and sugar. Stir well and bring to a boil.
- Lower the heat to simmer for 10 minutes to let flavors develop. Taste and adjust seasoning.
- Add raw or thawed dumplings to the simmering broth. Cook 6-8 minutes until fully done.
- If using pre-cooked dumplings, add and simmer for 4-5 minutes until heated through.
- Turn off heat and add scallions, sesame seeds, and more chili oil or crisp if desired.
- Ladle soup and dumplings into bowls. Serve hot and enjoy immediately.
