Savory Pepper Steak Done in 30 Minutes Flat for Busy Nights


Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 pound Flank Steak or Sirloin
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 cup Mini Bell Peppers
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onions

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until almost smoking.
  2. Add half the steak strips to the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes on each side until seared. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. If necessary, add more oil and toss in the diced mini bell peppers. Sauté for about 3–4 minutes until tender.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and freshly minced ginger, cooking for an additional minute.
  5. Pour in the low sodium soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, and stir well. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Combine cornstarch with a small amount of sauce until smooth, then return to the pan. Let simmer until the sauce thickens.
  7. Return seared beef to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly in the sauce.
  8. Serve immediately, topped with optional sesame seeds and green onions.
