Ingredients
- 1 bottle Red Wine (dry, fruity wine like Merlot or Zinfandel)
- 2 cups Apple Cider

- 5 pieces Whole Cloves
- 3 pieces Green Cardamom Pods (optional)
- 2 pieces Cinnamon Sticks
- 2 pieces Star Anise (optional)
- 1/2 cup Brandy (optional)
- Orange slices (for garnish)
- Extra cinnamon sticks (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large pot, mix together the red wine, apple cider, honey, orange juice, and zest. Stir until honey is dissolved.
- Add the whole cloves, cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, and star anise into the mixture.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium-high heat, then reduce to low and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
- Stir in the brandy after simmering for added warmth and depth, or skip for a non-alcoholic version.
