- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown ground beef with onion. Add marinara sauce, salt, and pepper; simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and a dash of salt.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread meat sauce, then layer noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and more meat sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- If sauce is too watery, simmer longer to thicken.
- A baking sheet can substitute for foil if needed.
- Adding spinach can enhance the flavor.
