Description
This Halloween Buffalo Chicken Dip is a spooky and savory party treat. It’s a creamy, tangy, and subtly spicy dip loaded with melted cheese, perfect for your Halloween gathering.
Ingredients
- 2 ½ to 3 cups cooked chicken, finely shredded
- Two 8-ounce blocks cream cheese, softened
- ¾ cup buffalo wing sauce
- ½ cup ranch dressing
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 2–3 tablespoons green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
- Black olives (for spider decoration)
- Red bell pepper (for decoration)
- Tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks, bell pepper strips (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the softened cream cheese until light and fluffy.
- Gradually mix in the buffalo wing sauce until fully incorporated.
- Add the ranch dressing and mix until combined.
- Fold in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese, ½ cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese, and the shredded chicken until evenly distributed.
- Lightly grease an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Spoon the dip mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese and ½ cup of mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Let the dip rest for 5-10 minutes before decorating.
- Decorate with black olive spiders (halved olives for bodies, thinly sliced olives for legs) and any other desired Halloween shapes using red bell pepper.
- Serve warm with your favorite dippers.
Notes
- For ease, use a store-bought rotisserie chicken.
- Ensure cream cheese is fully softened for a smooth dip.
- Adjust buffalo sauce amount for desired spice level.
- Consider swapping ranch dressing for blue cheese dressing for a classic wing flavor.
- Prepare the dip ahead of time by mixing ingredients, covering, and refrigerating. Add an extra 10-15 minutes to baking time if baking from cold.
- To keep the dip warm during a party, transfer it to a small slow cooker set to ‘warm’ or a chafing dish.
