Description
Ground Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes is a warm and comforting dish. It features creamy mashed potatoes topped with savory ground beef in homemade gravy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Fresh parsley chopped (optional garnish)
- 2 lbs russet or Yukon gold potatoes peeled and cubed
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup milk warm

Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cubed potatoes and cook until fork-tender (15–20 minutes). Drain, return to the pot, and mash with butter and warm milk. Season to taste and keep warm.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the pan. Add onion and garlic, and sauté 2–3 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir to coat. Cook for 1–2 minutes, then slowly whisk in beef broth. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5–7 minutes until thickened.
- Spoon mashed potatoes onto plates and ladle the beef and gravy over the top. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
