Description

French Dip Tortilla Roll Ups are your new go-to recipe. Imagine the rich, savory flavors of a classic French Dip sandwich in a wonderfully portable and dippable format.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder (for au jus)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (for au jus)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, 1 tsp onion powder (for au jus), 1 tsp garlic powder (for au jus), salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer for 10-15 minutes to meld flavors. Keep warm over low heat.
  2. Warm tortillas briefly (microwave 15-30 seconds or dry skillet) to make them pliable and prevent cracking during rolling.
  3. Lay a warm tortilla flat. Layer with about ¼ cup cheese and ¼ lb roast beef. Lightly sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley (dividing the total amounts among the 4 tortillas). Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Fold one side of the tortilla tightly over the filling, then fold in the top and bottom edges. Roll tightly from the folded side to create a snug, compact roll. Repeat for remaining tortillas.
  5. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add melted butter. Place 1-2 roll-ups seam-side down and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown, crispy, and cheese is thoroughly melted. Repeat for all roll-ups.
  6. Transfer cooked roll-ups to a cutting board. Slice each roll-up crosswise into 3-4 pinwheels. Arrange on a platter and serve immediately with the warm au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • Use freshly sliced roast beef for best flavor.
  • Experiment with different cheeses if desired.
  • Adjust seasoning to your taste.
