  • Author: Jannet Lisa
  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 24 balls 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These Apple Oreo Balls are a fun and delicious twist on classic Oreo truffles. Shaped like adorable red apples, they are coated in candy melts and topped with pretzel stems and green candy leaves. They require no baking and are perfect for fall, back-to-school events, teacher appreciation gifts, or any occasion needing a delightful, edible craft.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (36 cookies) Oreo cookies, crushed into fine crumbs
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 bag red candy melts
  • 24 mini pretzel sticks (broken into small stems)
  • Green M&M’s or green candy leaves
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix crushed Oreo cookies with softened cream cheese until fully combined and dough-like.
  3. Scoop and roll the mixture into 1-inch balls, then shape each one slightly into an apple form (rounded top, slightly flattened base).
  4. Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes or until firm.
  5. Melt red candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between. Add coconut oil if needed for a smoother texture.
  6. Dip each chilled ball into the melted candy, coating evenly. Place back onto the parchment-lined tray.
  7. While still wet, insert a pretzel piece at the top for the apple stem and press a green M&M beside it to resemble a leaf.
  8. Let set completely at room temperature or chill until firm.
  9. Serve or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
