- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/3 cup brown sugar (for apples)

- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
- Toss sliced apples in a large bowl with lemon juice, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Spread the oat topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the top is golden and the apples are tender and bubbling.
- Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
